My first experience with Mobile number portability

I visited one of the biggest BSNL dealer in Frazer Road on January 31st, 2011 and asked details about porting. He clarifies all my doubts and provided MNP and CAF forms. At that time I wanted to port my Idea mobile to BSNL. But It was quite surprising that whenever I tried to send the message to 1900 for porting code, the error message flashed "message sending failed". The mobile had positive balance and was about one yeear old. After a few failed tries I finally did the same thing from my Airtel number. Airtel's response was instant and I finally got porting code. I filled the form accordingly and instantly they provided me the sim and charged Rs. 60.00 for FRC. I would like to say that the person on the counter was so busy and was receiving 2 phones at he same time and dealing with the customers simultaneously. By the way he mentioned me that I have to wait for five to six days to complete the process.

After 7 days, When nothing happened I visited to the dealer again and asked about the delay. He just took my number and convinced me to wait for 48 hrs.

Today, I got a message from BSNL that they will port the number at 10 PM, tonight. Lets wait what will happen!

Reason behind porting: Very low internet speed about 30-40 kbps.

Update: It was really impressive the process started about 10.05 PM. Registration of Old SIM card failed. After 10-15 minutes outgoing calls are enabled from BSNL SIM and after 40-45 minutes incoming calls also.

It took about one hour to complete the process. When I checked the balance it was Rs 50 with 7 days validity. Next day I called the dealer for FRC of Rs 60. He did in 30 minutes.

And finally I got Rs 161.20 with 6 months validity + 5 GB Data.

छात्रों को क्या पढ़ना चाहिए? छात्रों ही एक गंभीर विषय और बहस का एक मुद्दा है। पर मेरे विचार से यह रोजगारपरक और विचारोंन्मुखी होना चाहिए। इससे छात्र दो रोटी का जुगाड़ कर सकें और एक बेहतर – जागरूक व्यक्ति बन सके। मैंने कई ऐसे लोगों के बारे में सुना है जिनके माता – पिता एक अच्छे पद पर हैं और जिनके बच्चे इंजीनियरिंग और डॉक्टरी की पढाई कर बैंकों में कलर्क की नौकरी कर रहे होते हैं। मजे की बात तो यह है जब यह सुनने को मिलता है कि उनकी इस(!) सफ़लता के पीछे निर्मल बाबा सरीखे लोगों का हाथ होता है। इसी से मुझे भारत की शिक्षा व्यवस्था की स्थिति का पता चल जाता है। बेहतर तो होता कि सरकार सभी ज़िला मुख्यालयों में एक भाषा विद्यालय का गठन करती या केंद्रीय विद्यालयों में एक भाषा सम्बन्धी विभाग होता जो स्वतंत्र रूप से उस विद्यालय और स्थानीय आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप 6-7 भाषाओँ का चयन करता और न ही सिर्फ केंद्रीय विद्यालय बल्कि अन्य विद्यालयों के छात्रों की आवश्यकताओं को पूरा कर सकता था। इससे विद्यालयों को आवश्यकता के अनुरूप हर भाषा के छात्र मिल जाते। कुछ रोजगार भी पैदा होता और छात्रों को विकल्प भी मिल जाता। संस्कृत
