A rough Comparison between Blogger and Wordpress


Here is the rough comparison between Blogger (Blogspot) and Wordpress:

Themes and customization:

  • Blogger: You can edit template layouts, styles and colors, or install a third party theme. but the problem is the themes provided by blogger is slightly outdated or very simple. I you rely on a third party themes you can find a nice one.
  • Wordpress: You cannot edit template at all. Style sheet editing is only available as a paid upgrade. Many of the 60+ themes let you upload a header image But one have additional customization options.
Import:

  • Blogger: Only from another BlogSpot blog.
  • Wordpress: Import from Blogger, Yahoo! 360, Live·Journal, Type·Pad, Movable·Type or another WordPress blog.
Image storage:
  • Blogger: 1 Gigabyte free. There is no interface to browse through the images unless you sign up for Picasa Web Albums. You may additional storage from Google's Picasa Web Albums
  • Wordpress: 3 Gigabytes. Paid upgrades are available to add more space. You can also upload .ppt, .doc, .odt and .pdf files (more file types with an upgrade).


    Galleries
    • Blogger: You can use Picasa Web Albums.
    • Wordpress: Simply add the tag [gallery] to any post or page (more info).
    Static pages:
    • Blogger: Up to 10 web pages can be created
    • Wordpress: Create posts or 'pages'. Static pages are listed in separate menus.
    Category:
    • Blogger: 'Labels'
    • Wordpress: 'Categories'
    Post by email:
    • Blogger: Submit your posts by email. You can receive new posts by email too (helpful for team blogs).
    • Wordpress: Submit your posts by email. Images can be attached
    Team blogs:
    • Blogger: Administrators and non-administrators only.
    • Wordpress: Administrator, Editors, Authors and Contributors.

    Conclusion: If you want a good looking blog for you go for wordpress free 3 GB storage will be enough for you but the limitation is there you can not customize a lot. on the same time if you want more customization you are welcomed to blogger where you can customize your whole template even use a third party template and a lot of other option are there. Additionally you may also monetize your blog to earn some money from your blog. 1 GB is not a good storage for your all images because picasa web album also stores your personal images(i.e. Shared storage) but you can opt for.

    जर्मन के जगह संस्कृत को अनिवार्य बनाना समझदार सरकार का बचकाना कृत्य है

    छात्रों को क्या पढ़ना चाहिए? छात्रों ही एक गंभीर विषय और बहस का एक मुद्दा है। पर मेरे विचार से यह रोजगारपरक और विचारोंन्मुखी होना चाहिए। इससे छात्र दो रोटी का जुगाड़ कर सकें और एक बेहतर – जागरूक व्यक्ति बन सके। मैंने कई ऐसे लोगों के बारे में सुना है जिनके माता – पिता एक अच्छे पद पर हैं और जिनके बच्चे इंजीनियरिंग और डॉक्टरी की पढाई कर बैंकों में कलर्क की नौकरी कर रहे होते हैं। मजे की बात तो यह है जब यह सुनने को मिलता है कि उनकी इस(!) सफ़लता के पीछे निर्मल बाबा सरीखे लोगों का हाथ होता है। इसी से मुझे भारत की शिक्षा व्यवस्था की स्थिति का पता चल जाता है। बेहतर तो होता कि सरकार सभी ज़िला मुख्यालयों में एक भाषा विद्यालय का गठन करती या केंद्रीय विद्यालयों में एक भाषा सम्बन्धी विभाग होता जो स्वतंत्र रूप से उस विद्यालय और स्थानीय आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप 6-7 भाषाओँ का चयन करता और न ही सिर्फ केंद्रीय विद्यालय बल्कि अन्य विद्यालयों के छात्रों की आवश्यकताओं को पूरा कर सकता था। इससे विद्यालयों को आवश्यकता के अनुरूप हर भाषा के छात्र मिल जाते। कुछ रोजगार भी पैदा होता और छात्रों को विकल्प भी मिल जाता। संस्कृत
